Oyster Vinaigrette  

6 oysters
2 Tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp saffron (about 30 tendrils)
3 strawberries

Grilled Watermelon

2 thicc watermelon slices
2 Tbsp honey 
2 tsp light soy sauce
Juice of 1 lemon
2 tsp dried fenugreek leaves 
5ml liquid smoke (optional)
¼ cup salted pistachio (crushed)

Dark Chocolate Mug Cake

2 Tbsp maca powder
2 Tbsp self-raising flour
2 Tbsp dark cocoa 
3 Tbsp milk
1 Tbsp vegetable oil 
1 tsp vanilla 
2 dark chocolate squares  
Strawberries and cream/ice cream


1. For the watermelon marinade, mix honey, soy, lemon juice, smoke and fenugreek leaves in a shallow container. God, you’re doing such a good job. Add watermelon slices and leave to marinate for at least 30 minutes on each side. 
2. For the oyster vinaigrette, heat up the lemon juice until it begins to bubble. Isn’t this so much fun? Add the saffron and allow to infuse for about 10 minutes. Once infused, blend with the strawberries into a puree. That’s right, just like that. Pass the puree through a sieve to remove clumps, before serving over the oysters. 

3. Once the watermelon has marinated, grill the slices over a medium high heat – yeah, make it hot – for 5-10 minutes on each size while basting over remaining marinade throughout. Serve in finer slices or whole, topped with crushed pistachio nuts. Amazing work, we’re almost done.

4. For the mug cake, combine and mix all dry ingredients directly into the mug. Add the wet ingredients and again mix until a thick, smooth batter is formed. We’re about to enter the sensual world. Sink chocolate squares into the centre of the batter before zapping in the microwave, on high, for 90 seconds. Serve topped with sliced strawberry and/or ice cream. We’re ready.
